dc.description.abstract Haloperidol Decanoate is an antipsychotic medication that is used to treat schizophrenia. Schizophrenia is a severe mental illness that interferes with normal thought processes. Some may think that oral dosage forms are the best for them, however, it may not be. This medication comes as an intramuscular injection that only needs to be administered approximately every four weeks. This may seem alarming, but compliance and outcomes are greater. However, this medication is expensive and does have many drug-drug interactions. Patients on this medication should be monitored after receiving this injection and be aware of the interactions. Overall, Haloperidol Decanoate is a long-acting medication that can help control Schizophrenia. en_US
