dc.description.abstract Background: Current optometric practice management resources provide knowledge in specifically optometric business. However, optometric practice management, or any business, is an ever-changing field. Do current optometric practice management text and articles match the teachings of successful men and women entrepreneurs, profound thinkers, and human achievers? Do these profound achievers have anything to teach optometric businesses? A literature review is needed to compare and contrast current optometric management technique to some of human’s greatest minds. Methods: Author will consult the leading optometric practice management resources. Optometry information is sourced from eleven optometric practice management textbooks of varied authors, peer-reviewed articles, and expert opinions from the Optometric Management Editorial Advisory Board. To formulate a ranking criteria system and the apply it to human achievement is a difficult undertaking, therefore evidence of success for any selection is presented before his or her ideas are conveyed. Advice or studies of the ultra-successful are taken from the person’s corresponding biography or autobiography unless cited otherwise. Results: I intend to answer the specific question that was posed in the background: Do current optometry practice management text and articles match the teachings of successful men and women entrepreneurs, profound thinkers, and human achievers? Conclusions: The conclusion of this review has helped me discuss, reinforce, and in some instances, create the 6 lessons. Each lesson has take a tips for optometric professionals to use in their practice setting en_US
